Father Thomas More was born in Avonmore, Pennsylvania on September 17, 1966. He is the son of Grace and the late Adam Sikora of Avonmore. He is one of six children, all residing in the Pittsburgh and Greensburg areas. He entered the Saint Vincent Benedictine community in 1988, and made simple profession of the monastic vows on July 10, 1989, and solemn profession of vows on July 11, 1993. He was ordained a priest on May 31, 1997, at the Archabbey Basilica. While at the Archabbey, Father Thomas More has served at the Saint Vincent Gristmill, on the faculty of Saint Vincent College and with the pastoral formation program of Saint Vincent Seminary. In the pastoral assignments away from Saint Vincent Archabbey, Father Thomas More served at St. Benedict Parish, Carrolltown; Sacred Heart Parish and Saint Mary Parish, St. Marys; St. James Parish, Apollo, and Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish, East Vandergrift. Earlier this year, in May 2018, he was appointed administrator of St. Peter Parish, Northside, and will be joining the staff at Our Lady of Fatima, St. Frances Cabrini, St. John the Baptist and St. Titus Parishes, effective October 15, 2018.
