Father Joachim Morgan, O.S.B., of Saint Vincent Archabbey is the son of Charles and Laura Morgan of White Lake, Michigan. He has one sister, Rebecca Field of White Lake.
He is a 2006 graduate of Ludington High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in French from Central Michigan University in 2009. He enrolled at Saint Vincent Seminary in 2011 and earned the master of arts degree in 2015. In 2018, he received the master of divinity degree, cum laude, from Saint Vincent Seminary, as well as the Demetrius R. Dumm, O.S.B., Sacred Scripture Award, which is given by the faculty to the student who most demonstrates excellence in the study of Sacred Scripture. He is enrolled in the graduate program at Middlebury College, Vermont (2016-present).
He entered the novitiate of Saint Vincent Archabbey in 2010, and made simple profession of vows in 2011. He professed solemn vows on July 11, 2014. He was ordained to the diaconate on May 27, 2017 by Most Rev. Edward C. Malesic, Bishop of the Diocese of Greensburg. He was ordained to the priesthood (pictured) May 19, 2018 by Bishop Malesic.
He has served as assistant of the assistant to the manager at the Saint Vincent Gristmill General Store (2011-2013); assistant director, Archabbey Guests and Guest Facilities (2014-2016); sacristan and assistant master of ceremonies (2015-2017), assistant to the director of the Saint Vincent College Bookstore (2015-2018); assistant for the summer retreat program (2011-2018); and assistant to the director of the Oblate Program (2013-2018).
Bishop Zubik has assigned Father Joachim as Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Fatima, St. Frances Cabrini and St. Titus Parishes, effective July 2, 2018. He will reside at Our Lady of Fatima Rectory.
