All are welcome to attend this ongoing study class held on Wednesday’s at 9:30AM in the Faith Formation Room of St. John the Baptist Pastoral Center. On February 26, 2020, the topic will be Introduction to the Matthew’s Gospel. On March 4, 2020, the topic is from chapter 1, Jesus - The Son of David, the Son of Abraham.  The text and footnotes will be from the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible, edited by Dr. Scott Hahn and Curtis Mitch. With each chapter of Matthew’s gospel, we will view a DVD (Ascension) by Jeff Cavins who will discuss the Gospel of Matthew in greater depth. Please join to further your biblical knowledge, enjoy a coffee and donut as well as some interesting discussion.  All are welcome.​​​​​​​

The MACH1 Youth Group will meet on February 23, 2020 at 6:00PM in the Faith Formation Room located on the first floor of the St. John the Baptist Pastoral Center, 1501 Virginia Avenue, Monaca.   For details, click on the heading.

The Parish Share Program begins today! Our parish goal for 2020 is $51,629. Envelopes with the pledge cards in alphabetical order are at the church main entrance. Please pick up your envelope as you leave church. Parish Share helps parishes achieve things they cannot do on their own. Your contribution helps to provide all of our diocesan parishes with: property planning and insurance expertise, legal and judicial counsel, stewardship and development services, and financial and auditing services in order to better serve their parish and its members.

When you look at the crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the Sacred Host, you understand how much Jesus loves you now. As Catholics, we believe that Christ becomes truly present within the Blessed Sacrament during the consecration at Mass. As promised by Him, His Presence is abiding, not something that vanishes at the conclusion of Mass. The Little Sisters of the Poor are an international congregation of Roman Catholic religious women founded in 1839 by St. Jeanne Jugan.  Together with a diverse network of collaborators, they serve the elderly poor in over 30 countries around the world.  Their mission is to offer the neediest elderly of every race and religion a home where they will be welcomed as Christ, cared for as family and accompanied with dignity until God calls them to Himself.  The Little Sisters of the Poor will make their appeal in our parish grouping on the weekend of February 29th/March 1st.  Please be as generous as your budget allows.​​​​​​​

The Christian Mothers will join together for the 10:30AM Mass on Sunday, February 16, 2020. Members are asked to meet in Monsignor Farri Hall by 10:15AM in order to proces into the church as a group.  A brief meeting and refreshments in the hall will follow Mass.  Members are asked to bring newly-purchased lottery tickets to donate to the Winter Carnival. Any amount, as your means allow, is greatly appreciated.  All women of the Parish are invited to join.  Our Lady of Sorrows, Patroness of Christain Mothers, pray for all.

St. John the Baptist Pastoral Center will be closed Monday, February 17, 2020 in observance of Presidents Day.  The office will reopen on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 9:00AM.

Bits & Pieces, an Irish expression for "odds & ends", is the name of a series of Lenten reflection on the daily Mass readings prepared by Frs.
