We warmly welcome seminarian David Schmidt to our grouping for his pastoral year. He will be ministering in our four parishes in many and varied ways as part of his ongoing preparation for priestly ordination. David was born on June 7, 1991. He is the son of Kimberly and David Schmidt Sr. David has three brothers, Ryan, Vincent and Dominic; and one sister, Nicole. St. Fidelis of Sigmaringen Parish in Butler is David’s home parish. He attended Butler Catholic Elementary School before graduating from Butler Area High School in 2009. David graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management. In 2014, he received a Masters in Sports Management from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA. David’s most recent employment was the Director of Young Adult Ministry at Saint Fidelis Parish. In the Fall of 2015, David was accepted into the priestly formation program and completed two years of pre-theology studies at St. Paul Seminary and Duquesne University in May 2017. David was assigned to Theological College and The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC to begin theological studies in Fall 2017, and has just finished his 2nd year.
