Blessing Of Religious Articles

As our Lord became incarnate to redeem us, and as He instituted the seven sacraments to bring us the fruits of His redemption, the Church blesses images of our Lord, the Virgin Mary, and various religious items. Once blessed, these 'sacramentals' are meant to inspire our prayers and lift our minds to the things of heaven. If you have crucifixes, statues, rosaries, religious medals, etc., you are welcome to bring such articles after all Sunday Masses the weekend of September 12/13 to any of our four churches to have them blessed. Please note that Jubilee Medals of St. Benedict are given a special blessing invoking the Church’s authority over evil.  (Due to time constraints between Masses, we ask that those wishing to have salt blessed to please contact any of our priests to set an appointment or ask one of them after a weekday Mass.)
