Parish Updates
Dear Brothers and Sisters.
Greetings in the Lord.
Happy Labor Day
This weekend we as a nation will observe Labor Day. As a national holiday, we give thanks for those who through their military service to our country worked and fought to win for us the freedom to work and provide for ourselves, our families, and our communities. Labor Day also has a connection to our Catholic faith. By using our God-given gifts, talents, and skills in our daily work, we derive a certain sense of satisfaction as we cooperate with the creative power of God. In our daily work, whether it be in the home or at our workplace, we see a reflection of the Holy Family and their home life. May Jesus, Mary and Joseph help us to see a great dignity in all of our labors no matter how great or small.
Bereavement Committee
We are looking to form a Bereavement Committee. The loss of a loved one is a difficult time for families and we as a parish want to support our brothers and sisters in mourning. It would be great to get a group of our parishioners together to assist with sending a card to the immediate family, being present at the Funeral Mass, putting a luncheon together for the family, and other small details. A team of generous souls who might feel called to perform this act of love in the name of our parish family would earn graces for us all! Please call the office at 724.775.3940.
Repair Project
Saint Titus Church has had recent roof leaks, which has damaged the ceiling in the church nave and the ceiling and flooring in the sacristies. In order to facilitate repairs we need to conduct an asbestos abatement project in these areas. The asbestos abatement project will start September 7, 2021 and anticipated completion of September 24, 2021. The Diocese of Pittsburgh through the Office of Facilities Management and Maintenance has assisted us with obtaining an asbestos abatement contractor that has worked in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. This contractor is a Commonwealth of PA certified asbestos abatement contractor. All asbestos abatement will be performed in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations.
Sacramental Records
Anyone in need of sacramental records, please contact the Archives Office at the Diocese of Pittsburgh at 412.456.3158, Monday through Friday, from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. This information is no longer available through the parish offices.
In the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts,
Fr. Jean-Luc, OSB
