Welcome, Kevin Johnson
My Dear Parish Family,
We are delighted to welcome our parish’s new assistant organist, Mr. Kevin Johnson.
Kevin comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He has earned a Bachelor Degree in Music Education with a Major in Organ and Minor in Piano and Voice from Slippery Rock Univeristy as well as graduate study in Conducting and Music Education and Music Technology at Illinois State and Duquesne Universities.
Throughout his career, Kevin has served Catholic musical education in the Diocese of Pittsburgh at North Catholic (1989-2009), Bishop Canevin (2009-2021) and Seton LaSalle High School (2017-18). In addition to his teaching career, Kevin has many years of experience leading parishioners in worship, serving most recently as the assistant organist at Divine Grace Parish.
Serving as an organist in Catholic Churches through the years, Kevin’s love for the Faith grew stronger with time. After a long journey, on December 8, 2022, Kevin entered fully into the Catholic Church through reception of the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion. Kevin is a tremendous witness of what it means to trust in God and His timing! We are blessed to welcome him into our parish family.
Blessings,
Fr. Canice
Pastor of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish
