Gratitude; Hope and Trust
My Dear Parish Family,
I would like to express my deep appreciation and gratitude to you once again. Your prayers and support are a tremendous gift and I feel them deeply. I would also like to thank Bishop Zubik for coming to our parish this weekend to install me as your pastor. It is an immense honor to be your pastor, and I am grateful for all of the ways he has already encouraged and supported me in this new role.
As we draw near to the end of the liturgical year, Holy Mother Church asks us to pray in a special way for the faithful departed. In the midst of the grief we experience at the loss of our loved ones, we are still able to hold firm to our faith with great joy knowing that death does not have the last word. Christ has conquered death. He has triumphed over the grave. My dear brothers and sisters, do not lose hope. Entrust the souls of your loved ones to our Lord with great joy knowing that one day you will be with them again, you will see our God face-to-face, and tears will be wiped away.
In the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Fr. Canice Mc Mullen, OSB
