Many parishes have adopted online scheduling programs that are easy to use, accessible 24/7, and time saving. Our parish will now provide the same convenience, availability, and efficiency regarding for not only the scheduling of Mass intentions, but also sanctuary and shrine lamp intentions.

This online service for scheduling Mass and/or lamp intentions for dates occurring during a set liturgical year* will open according to the schedule given below. (Please do not mail / email lists or send a stipend with a request list to the parish office in advance, as such dates will not be reserved / processed.)

As our parish continues in the implementation of its new online Mass & Lamp Intention Request method, while also considering good past practices,
the process of taking intention requests will proceed according to the following schedule for the 2025 liturgical year:
- Parishioners celebrating a 25th, 50th, 60th, 70th or 75th wedding anniversary are to contact the MQS Parish Administrative Office between Monday, November 4, 2024 thru Tuesday, November 12, 2024 to request their special milestone date. All organizations of the parish looking to request special Mass dates should also contact the office during this same time period.
- From Tuesday, November 12, 2024 to Friday, November 15, 2024 at 9:59AM, our online Mass & Lamp Intention Request System will not be accessible so that it can be updated with open date/time/site information for the 2025 liturgical year.
- Starting on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 10:00AM the online system for scheduling Masses and lamps for the 2025 liturgical year will open to all. Please remember that you may request up to: one (1) Saturday Vigil/Sunday or Holy Day Vigil/Holy Day Mass AND one (1) weekday Mass; OR two (2) weekday Masses. You may request up to four (4) lamps.

*Note that when the online service opens to the public, some of the Mass dates/times for the liturgical year will already be scheduled. This will be due to the honoring of the requests related to special anniversaries and parish organizations, in addition to Masses reserved 'for the parishioners' in accordance with Church regulations. Our parish Mass and Lamp Intention Request Schedule is based on the 'liturgical year', which runs from the 1st Sunday of Advent thru the Saturday after the Solemnity of Christ the King.Please refrain from contacting the parish administrative office regarding 2025 liturgical year dates and times as
no such Mass and/or lamp requests will be accepted prior to the opening of the online service on November 15th at 10:00AM.

Mass Intention Request Guidelines:
- Mary, Queen of Saints parishioners are limited to two Mass intentions per liturgical year, per parish envelope number. Of the two Masses, only one can be a Saturday Vigil/Sunday Mass or Holy Day Vigil/Holy Day Mass, and the other a weekday Mass; OR you can choose two weekday Masses.
- The stipend per Mass, as set by the Diocese of Pittsburgh, is $10. Those submitting stipends online are also asked to cover electronic transaction and processing costs of $0.60 per Mass request.
- The stipend submission can be made online, which is preferred. Such can also be made by mail or via the weekend offering basket (check/money order ONLY) with date, time and intention of the Mass you have already requested online noted on the check/MO memo line; OR in person at the Parish Administrative Office.
- All Mass intentions requests are considered ‘pending’ and subject to approval.

Lamp Intention Request Guidelines:
- Mary, Queen of Saints parishioners are limited to requesting four published sanctuary or shrine lamp intentions per liturgical year, per parish envelope number.
- The donation per sanctuary or shrine lamp is $10. Those submitting stipends online are also asked to cover electronic transaction and processing costs of $0.60 per lamp request.
- The lamp donation can be made online, which is preferred. Such can also be made by mail or via the weekend offering basket (check/money order ONLY), with date and intention of the lamp you have already requested online noted on check/MO memo line; OR in person at the Parish Administrative Office.
- All sanctuary/shrine lamp requests are considered ‘pending’ and subject to approval.

Please note:
- Intentions will not be recorded until the stipend/donation is received and the request approved by the parish administrative office. Online payment should be made at the time of request, without which the intention request will be held in 'pending' status for no more that 7 days, upon which the status will revert to 'request' status and be open again for selection. Stipend submission may also be made by mail or via the weekend offering basket (check/money order ONLY), with date, time and intention of the Mass and/or date and intention for the lamp you have already requested online noted on the check/MO memo line or an attached piece of paper); OR in person at the Parish Administrative Office.
- Any intention requests/stipends for a date not listed or not showing as available online will be denied/returned.
- Requests will be processed in the order in which the requests were input online.
- Any additional Masses that a requester makes in excess of the two permitted per liturgical year will be sent to priests outside of our parish.
- Occasionally, intentions must be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. You will be notified if the Mass for which your intention was scheduled is affected. The options offered will be to: reschedule for a later date, have the intention and the Mass stipend returned to you, or agree to have the Mass sent to a priest outside the parish.
- Mass Cards for scheduled Masses are available for pick up. Please contact the Parish Administrative Office if you would like one.
- You will receive an email when your submitted stipend is received. You will also receive a separate confirmation email when the Parish Administrative Office has approved and recorded your intention request.
- Due to high demand, Mass and lamp intention requests submitted online without an accompanying stipend will not be logged.** This is to ensure fairness to all who wish to place a request that can be logged and approved as well as prevent the practice of ‘holding dates' for Masses and/or lamps.
- For those without online access, Mass intentions can be scheduled during the months of January thru October by phoning the Parish Administrative Office at 724.775.6363 ext. 101, Tuesday thru Friday between the hours of 10:00AM to 1:00PM and 2:00PM to 5:00PM. Though phone requesting is not recommended, starting from the date the online request system opens (usually in early to mid November) for the approaching liturgical year thru all of December, you may call Monday thru Friday between the hours of 10:00AM to 1:00PM and 2:00PM to 5:00PM to make your Mass and/or lamp intention requests if you are without a way of submitting such via the online system

**All people of good will are invited to make Mass requests. Those who are in a position where they are financially unable to offer a stipend are invited to contact the Parish Administrative Office directly to discuss possible arrangements.

The practice of publishing Mass intentions each week in the bulletin as well as the announcement of intentions
during the Intercessory Prayers at Mass will continue. The listing of sanctuary and shrine lamp intentions in the bulletin will also be retained.
(The candles are placed on Fridays in the each lamp holder and remain through Thursday of the following week.)
