A few months ago, a single mother living paycheck-to-paycheck, kindly offered to host a homeless family while they were waiting for public housing. The homeless family had no income but many expenses of their own, and as a result of helping with their expenses, the woman fell behind on her mortgage, car payment, and utilities.
Thanks to the support of parishioners, monthly envelopes, and poor box donations, SVdP was able to pay this woman’s bills and arrange a truck for the homeless family to move to public housing. This kind lady is now up to date with her expenses and no longer requires our help. God bless our donors and the SVdP Team.
If you need help or are referring others for assistance, please call the St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Help Line at 724.252.4631. This number is the same for all four SVdP Teams in our parish. The phone will ring about 5 to 6 times and then go into a voice mailbox. When calling, please leave your name, phone number and name of the town/school district in which you reside. Voicemails will be routed to the respective SVdP Team based on geographic/school district. Callers will be contacted promptly.
