Due to a processing problem at our envelope provider Church Budget, there was a delay in getting the November/December packet out to all MQS parishioners in a timely order. This has caused a bit of a problem concerning two scheduled collections. The Archdiocese for Military Service Collection, which takes place every 3 years, was to be taken up on November 6, 2022, however, since the envelopes were not available, the collection could not take place. There is also the Retired Religious Collection scheduled for the weekend of November 19/20, 2022. In order to satisfy our responsibility to participate in these collections, both will take place next weekend. Realizing this could be a strain financially on members of our parish, please contribute based on what you can afford to either both or just one, knowing that any donation will be most appreciated by these organizations.
Military Special Collection (Due to another delivery issue, this envelope will not be in your packet. The envelopes for this special collection will be placed in the pews.) The weekend of November 19/20, 2022 there will be a second collection to benefit the Archdiocese for the Military Service (AMS). The AMS relies solely on private donors in support of its mission - “Serving Those Who Serve” - and its ministry to provide the same pastoral services to Catholics serving in the United States Armed Forces, enrolled in U.S. Military Academies, undergoing treatment at any of the 153 Department of Veterans Affairs’ Medical Centers, working in civilian jobs for the federal government beyond U.S. borders and the families of these populations, as does any other Catholic diocese. An envelope is provided for your contribution. Please contribute as your means allow.
Support Religious Communities Aging religious need your help. Thousands of senior sister, brothers, and religious order priests spent years working in Catholic schools, hospitals and agencies, often for little pay. Their sacrifices leave their religious communities without adequate savings for retirement and eldercare. Your gift to the Retirement Fund for Religious Collection helps provide prescription medications, nursing care, and more. Please give to those who have given a lifetime. The Collection for Retired Religious will take place the weekend of November 19/20, 2022. Please be as generous as your means allow.
