Regrettably, Fr. Cassian Edwards, OSB will not be available to present the Adult Faith Formation Conference set for Saturday, November 12, 2022. However, arrangements have been made to schedule a new speaker and topic for this same date. Seminarian Christopher Baker will present a talk on “Silence in the Spiritual Life”.
Silence is essential for our spiritual life because it is in silence that we most deeply and profoundly encounter God. It was from the context of eternal silence that God lovingly spoke all things into creation. It is in the context of silence that God speaks to us today, recreating us in His own image and likeness. However, fostering silence in our life can be difficult! If you are looking to develop a deeper intimacy with our Lord in your spiritual life, please sign up for our next Adult Faith Formation Conference evening when seminarian Christopher Baker will unpack for us the rich treasures of the Church’s teachings on silence and the spiritual life.
A native of New Castle, PA, Chris was born on February 24, 1992. He attended Union Elementary School and Kennedy Catholic High School, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014 with a B.A. in Psychology. He is currently studying theology at St. Vincent College in preparation for becoming a priest for the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Christopher’s home parish is Holy Spirit Parish. Come for a presentation on a subject about which many are quiet, but much can be said.
Please note that if you have already made reservations for the November 12th conference via our SignUpGenius and still plan to attend, you do not need to RSVP again. However, if you wish to cancel, please contact the Parish Administrative Office at 724.775.6363 ext 101 as soon as possible.
It is hoped that many will come to hear about the role of silence in our lives of faith as well as show support for a seminarian of our Diocese.
