The Wonder of the Mass; Adult Faith Formation Program
Dear Parish Family,
Greetings in the Lord Jesus, our Great High Priest Who offered His life on the altar of the cross to redeem us from sin and death, and Who daily makes His one perfect sacrifice present on our altars in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
When we go to Mass, we are mystically transported to the foot of the cross, and we stand alongside the Blessed Mother and St. John the Beloved Apostle, and we adore the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world. One single Mass has the power to redeem every man, woman and child on the earth, all who went before us, and all who will come after us. One single Mass atones for every sin ever committed, crushing the head of the ancient serpent. Souls in purgatory are refreshed and cleansed to behold the Presence of God, and the entire heavenly army of angels cast themselves down before this awesome Mystery!
Let us renew our gratitude for the wonder of the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and let us be fervent in prayer for our parishioners who have drifted away from their Sunday observance. Perhaps God will give you and me the perfect moment and the right words to invite our friends and family members back into the regular participation in the sacramental life of our parish!
This weekend we resume our Adult Faith Formation Program. Father Canice will present on the Four Temperaments and how understanding these can assist us in growing in virtue. Next month we will welcome the Sisters of Life from New York City. They are a large and growing religious community who were founded to proclaim the truth of the sanctity of human life in our country. Their lives are a beautiful proclamation to the world to see the beauty of every human life from conception until natural death, and we will have the great honor to welcome these holy, joyful consecrated souls to Mary, Queen of Saints Parish!
May God continue to bless each and every one of you and hold you close to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
